We recently created a series for a Christian author who is preparing to release a new teaching series on Baptism. We decided to create an intro for this series that conveys the concept of a religious experience…something that can be hard to verbalize.
One option would have been to just have a text title and go right into someone talking about it. But that would not have taken advantage of the capacity of video to inspire feelings/emotion/engagement. Instead we leveraged various cinematic techniques like sound design, seamless transitions, creative framing and a stylized color palette.
The power a moving picture can hold is hard to argue with. We’ve been inspired and challenged by movies we’ve seen over the years. We have all cried, laughed and been changed.
For some reason, we often throw all that out the window when it comes time to make a video for a corporate or business audience.
“My corporate video is not a movie. We don’t want to make anything too extreme.”
We get it. You have various stakeholders you have to get buy in from. There are corporate/brand policies and styles to adhere to. All those things are valid and need to be taken into account.
But what if…?
What if we could help you add a little bit of a unique visual style you’ve not seen before? What if we could put a subtle spin on the story or messaging to make it more memorable? What if your video was… really effective?
That’s the point right? We create videos for a purpose. To share a message, inform an audience and generate some kind of response.
